Creating a tiff file for Digiprint graphics

PacBlue specifications for creating Tiffs for Digiprint graphics

   1. Save/Export/Print to: the page as an EPS

   2. Open EPS in Illustrator; create outlines (remove fonts),
save as EPS file (no preview)

   3. Open the .ai in Photoshop at 300 dpi (ppi) at full size in
       greyscale mode

   4. In the layers palette, flatten the image

   5. Convert the mode from greyscale to bitmap

   6. For straight text use a 50% threshold

   7. For graphics use a pattern diffusion

   8. We use halftone, 75 frequency, 45 degrees, with round dots

   9. If you have text and graphics, do each separately (text at
50% and graphics halftone), then merge the two into one file

   10. Save the image as a Tiff with no compression (byte order
        does not matter)

The Tiff is what we use to Digiprint.

Note: This process requires lots of RAM, as the files can get as big as 150 MB. Have no fear, PacBlue can do this process if need be.
