
Below is an illustrated guide on Exporting to a Print Ready PDF from InDesign.
File -> Export

Choose the location and filename for the desired PDF. Set your Format to ‘Adobe PDF’.

General Tab:

Compatibility: Acrobat 5 (1.4)
View PDF after Exporting
Compression Tab:

Color Images:
Bicubic Downsampling to 300 ppi (for images above 350 ppi)
Compression: Zip
Grayscale Images:
Bicubic Downsampling to 300 ppi (for images above 350 ppi)
Compression: Zip
Monochrome Images:
Bicubic Downsampling to 1200 ppi (for images above 1800 ppi)
Compress text and Line Art
Crop Images Data to Frames
Marks and Bleed Tab:

Trim Marks
Type Default
Weight: 0.25pt
Offset: 0.083 in
Bleed and Slug
Set Bleeds to 0.25 inches for all four sides (Top, Bottom, Inside and Outside)
Output Tab:

Color Conversion: No Color Conversion
Profile Inclusion Policy: Include Tagged Source Profiles
(Please do not use any restriction passwords, as this will possibly affect our ability to output your file).
For Future Reference you can “Save Preset” for future use. We recommend saving this preset as “PacBlue”.

Once saved you will notice under the drop down at the top of the Export Adobe PDF window a PacBlue preset that retains all the settings noted above.
